A couple months ago I helped my friend Steph set up a blog for her comics. She got into it pretty quickly and soon was updating far more regularly than I was. Then she installed a site tracker so she could see who, in a general sense, was looking at her stuff. That’s when the phonecalls started.

“Someone is looking at my site from Winnipeg,” she’d say, in a tone usually reserved for saying things like “There’s someone in my house!” at three in the morning. “I don’t know anyone from Winnipeg! WHY ARE PEOPLE I DON’T KNOW LOOKING AT MY WEBSITE?”

And that’s how Steph discovered the double edged sword that is the internet: when you make your work publicly available, your work suddenly becomes available to the public.

Steph’s comics are funny and weird, and occasionally feature me in comic form, so you should go check them out. Then tell all your friends in Saskatchewan about them, so I’ll get more neurotic phone calls.

I’ll be performing at Granny Boots tomorrow, “early evening entertainment for Queers who have to get up in the morning.” Gladstone Hotel, Melody Bar, 7:30-10pm.

Finally, after an entire evening of fiddling and one major do-over, it’s done. The site has been moved into WordPress.
