Is it really surprising that you didn't take any pictures in Hamilton? Even I didn't take any, and you know me and my camera.

Missing out on Minnesota = ARGH! Glad you're having fun, take pictures of some bunnies for me! And as much as I also don't want you to run one over, the visual image of you wobbling around on a teeny tiny bike running over a bunny is HILARIOUS (but only in theory, in real life it would be TRAGIC).

I have emailed every city councilor in Toronto to let them know what I think. I am going to contact the British Columbia Nurses Union to see if I can get them to make a statement of some sort.

I agree that this is potentially a watershed moment. Actually I think the last time I was this pissed off was when the liberal government in B.C. dissolved the Union contracts and unilaterally imposed a new one. They eventually lost in the Supreme Court of Canada but even though they had to pay some reparations it was equivalent to the damage they did to the workers especially in the Hospital Employee's Union. Sadly BCNU which is generally very progressive is in the union doghouse for raiding HEU. Nonetheless it does generally well.

I am certainly writing, posting, shouting from the rooftops as are my children in Vancouver. Best wishes and I hope you are still as engaged now as you were July 1.

I'm Steph B's older sister and found your blog post through her. You nailed it right on the head. Our aunts were in town to protest and I was with them as a "city guide" but turned into a protester after the flagrant dereliction of duty I witnessed, followed by arbitrary and widespread abuse. I didn't notice if you already had seen this article from the sun, but it explain why the police didn't intervene with the rioters: http://www.torontosun.com/news/columnists/joe_warmington/2010/06/30/14564416.html

I live in the subburbs of TO, followed all events and soon realized that something was up, on saturday, when all they could do was to enjoy the "Show" they were putting on to justify the expense. Blair will end up taking the wrap for orders coming from Harper, no doubt about it.
