Rehearsal, Day 11
Tomorrow’s the first performance — an open dress rehearsal — and then Tuesday is opening night. I’m not worried or nervous, which makes me nervous and worried — surely if I’m so calm it must be because there’s something that I’m completely forgetting and therefore totally unprepared for.
Today was a long day, with lots of [...]

Rehearsal, Day 9
They’re not the only ones.
After climbing onto my bike yesterday morning I suddenly felt very tired. Within an hour my skin began to prickle and I felt cold and achey all over, the way I usually feel at the onset of a fever. I started finding it very difficult to concentrate and, even though I’d [...]

Seriously though, I’m really tired. [...]

It’s official
Nothing in life can said to be certain until it’s on Facebook, so it’s safe to say that Fishbowl is a sure thing now.
I’ve been counting down the days for the last few weeks. Today is my last day at work before the show, then I have a three day weekend, then I go into [...]

Three things that pick me up when I am down
1. Starchy, syrupy, saucy food-court Chinese food
I’m talking about chicken balls drenched in red mystery sauce. I’m talking about fried rice that’s been sitting in a heated tureen since the lunch rush. I’m talking about a three item combo plate where meat and vegetables alike have the same barely-need-to-chew-’em consistency, differentiated only by the colours [...]
